Highly recommended stop. There is a short hike (~20 min) required to get to bird rock, but it was well worth it. The panoramic view of all the birds nesting and flying about was incredible--and it was very foggy when we went; I can only imagine how much more spectacular it would be on a clear day. The staff inside the center was very helpful in giving us directions on how to get there and what to look for. There is an informative exhibit inside the center that I recommend reading before setting out.

You drive up towards a cliff face in a fog soup but once it lifts, you are rewarded with amazing vistas and surrounded by huge northern gannets flying all around you. A unique sight to behold and not to be missed just 2 hours south of St. John in the Avalon peninsula. Bird Rock is a leisurely 20 min walk over a marked path from the welcome centre (that had friendly staff and free coffee/tea/hot choco and cookies!)

A must see, unique scenery, amazing bird watch location, never ever seen an ecological reserve like this before... a variety of birds especially the Gannet, huge colony ... very friendly staff, we had a lot of fog and we loved it!! We'll come back again and again and again

Great place to view birds and sea the ocean. No cost 1.5k hike to see birds(only 60 feet away, from viewing). They also have a bird exhibit that's free. With carved birds out of wood that look life like and taxidermy ones also. Wow just a great place if you love all those things like myself.

This park is an ecological treasure, that you can almost walk right up to. Bird rock is an incredibly dense population of sea birds, nesting on a massive column of rock rising from the ocean, just meters from shore. Check ahead for the weather as it is often foggy. If you get it on a sunny day, this is one of the most spectacular places in Newfoundland.
